    Netflix has announced a second season for their 3D animated adaptation of Ultraman.

    The series is yet another collaborative project with Studio I.G. who also worked on the Netflix series Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. The first season of Netflix’s Ultraman aired back in 2019.

    The series follows Shinjiro Hayata, a young man who inherited the “Ultraman Factor” from his father after he merged with Ultraman. With his power, Shinjiro finds himself thrust into intergalactic conflict as a defender of Earth,

    The Ultraman franchise recently became international news when China banned the live action series Ultraman Tiga, claiming the series was a hindrance to the “development of healthy youth”.

    Ultraman season 2 begins April 14.
