Nestle is Paying Jrock Legend Gackt to Play Video Games for a Year

I’ve been a huge fan of Gackt for many years, both with his work in Malice Mizer as well as his robust solo material. His appearance, talent, and charm is undeniable.

Gackt has made appearances in the world of gaming as well, even playing the main character in the incredibly underrated Bujingai: The Forsaken City. His song “Hakuro” was even used as the theme song for Capcom’s live action Sengoku Basara show, where Gackt himself plays the evil King Nobunaga Oda (which turns out to be the thumbnail).

Anyway, featured above, you can check out what probably made you click on the article – Nestle hiring Gackt to play seemingly random video games for their coffee machines and other products. The deal is for Gackt to play a different video game a day, and his first game is Mega Man 2.

Don’t let Gackt’s seemingly bored and somewhat un-enthusiastic response to the game, as he quickly starts praising the classic NES platformer/shooter, describing how amazing the music is, and how well made the title is, especially for how old the game itself is.

It’s up to you guys if you want me to keep covering games he plays, I think it’ll be interesting to see him play some more recent games – especially more difficult ones like Bayonetta.
