NekoWorks have announced that the Nekopara series has sold 3 million copies on Steam, along with Nekopara Vol 4. being in development.

The news comes via Twitter, with the account sharing an image (above) along with the confirmation that Nekopara Vol 4. was in development. “Nekopara series has been sold over 3 million copies on Steam! We are working hard to bring you vol4, stay tuned!”

Originally beginning as an adult visual novel series in 2014, the series released an all ages version of their games onto Steam. Even the “bounciness slider” was censored in this non-adult version on PlayStation 4.

Since then the game has released five volumes (including Vol 0. and Extra), along with a smartphone game, an OVA (which also came to Steam) and an anime series.

The series follows the exploits of Kashou Minaduki, and him opening La Soleil, a patisserie like his parents before him. His plans are thrown off balance, when two of the catgirls his family had been caring for snuck along with him.

Soon, all the family’s catgirls (and Kashou’s little sister) join him at the shop. Comedy and romance soon ensue.
