Sometimes, even we miss stuff here at Niche Gamer. Previously, we reported on a new Dynasty Warriors Gundam title in development for both PS3 and Vita, and for some reason heard nothing about the game until earlier this year.
Now, we’ve caught wind of it finally making its way westward in the form of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn. It’s launching in both North America and Europe, although the game is only coming to America via the Playstation Network on July 1st, and in retail across Europe on June 27th. While the game was seen on Vita in Japan, the localization is only for the Playstation 3 version.
Gundam Reborn is set within an era described as the “Universal Century,” where there are giant mecha dubbed mobile suits that fight across space, sea, land, and air. The game is a crossover of sorts that features Mobile Suits and pilots from over 30 years of the franchise, in what is described as the “largest roster” of mecha and pilots available in a Gundam game thusfar.
The game features both split-screen multiplayer, as well as online co-op, alongside the “largest number of missions ever” that also span the entire Gundam franchise. Lastly, for the first in the series, the massive Mobile Armor units are going to be playable. The Mobile Armor units “tower over the opposition and deliver absolute destruction to the enemy,” complete with their own unique weapons.
