Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series tops 30 million copies

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm

Bandai Namco has announced the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series has topped 30 million copies worldwide.

The new milestone includes worldwide shipments and digital sales of the popular fighting game series, based on the also popular manga and anime series of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto.

To celebrate the new milestone, commemorative campaigns for the games are now underway with giveaways and discounted sales for the titles in the series.

Developed by CyberConnect2, the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series of games began in 2003 with Naruto: Ultimate Ninja for the PS2. It has gone on to spawn numerous sequels, spinoffs, and got a sequel series – the more recent Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series, which transitioned fully into 3D battles.

Most recently, the original Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm was ported to smartphones on both iOS (via the App Store) and Android (via Google Play).
