3Mind Games and All In! Games have announced The Protagonist: EX-1, a narrative-focused turn-based strategy game coming to Windows PC via Steam sometime next year.
You play as Angel, the leader of an elite human strike team that has boarded an alien ship as part of a vital and dangerous mission. You can check out the first teaser trailer above.
When the mission goes wrong, Angel reawakens in the ship’s infirmary with no memory of who she is or what she was sent to do. Now she must trust a mysterious voice if she hopes to save herself and the rest of her team trapped aboard the ship.
Here’s a rundown of the game:
War looms between the Terrans and an invading synthetic race. A massive station appears high in orbit and the first contact between them goes very wrong.
An elite strike team led by Angel, a highly trained special agent, is sent to neutralize the threat. But the mission goes awry and Angel awakens in the infirmary of the station’s lab. With no memory of what happened, she must trust an unfamiliar face to guide her through the alien ship and find the rest of her team. She only knows this: they are the only hope of Terra.
