Independent developer Cyan, best known for the Myst series, is releasing their latest game Obduction for PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, and HTC Vive.
The adventure game will release for all three platforms sometime next year. “We’re going all-in on VR,” Cyan CEO Rand Miller said in an interview with VentureBeat. “And the PlayStation breaks open our availability as a much broader platform for us. I [was] amazed at how good this looks on a console.”
Cyan is currently working on adding support for both hand controls and scale-ability of the room. The goal is to allow players to directly interact with things in the game world, like picking up tools and examining things.
Obduction is currently available for PC, and supports the Oculus Rift.
With a final tease, Cyan notes Obduction hitting new platforms is “just the beginning” of their entry into the virtual reality space.
