Japanese developer aNCHOR has announced western releases for both Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative on Switch, two new remastered re-releases.
Muv-Luv Remastered and Muv-Luv Alternative Remastered are coming to Switch (via the eShop) on July 11th in the west. The new remastered Switch ports were previously only confirmed for Japan.
Switch eShop preorders are now live for both Muv-Luv Remastered and Muv-Luv Alternative Remastered and a Double Pack for both games, the latter of which saves you some money.
Here’s a rundown on both game ports:
About Muv-Luv Remastered
Shirogane Takeru is an ordinary teenager who spends his days hanging out with his childhood friend and classmate, Kagami Sumika. One day, his peaceful ordinary life is interrupted when the heir to a global megaconglomorate, Mitsurugi Meiya, appears out of nowhere and moves into his house.
Meiya swears that she and Takeru are bound by fate, and won’t listen to what anybody else has to say.
And when Meiya arrives, she brings all kinds of chaos with her, and Takeru’s classmates Sakaki Chizuru, Ayamine Kei, Tamase Miki, and Yoroi Mikoto all get caught up in the mess!
There’s lots of laughs and fun, and Takeru’s actions start to have a big influence on the people around him, and he begins to establish deeper relationships with them.
As the world around Takeru starts to change, what ending will he choose for himself?
Muv-Luv is the game that started it all, and the first game in the Muv-Luv Saga. At the time of its release, it divided the otaku world in two and inspired a generation of creators, and it remains beloved today.
About Muv-Luv Alternative Remastered
Shirogane Takeru, a boy who’d been living an ordinary life in peaceful Japan, suddenly wakes up in a world he doesn’t recognize. In this world, humanity has fought a decades-long war against alien invaders called BETA, and is on the brink of defeat. Japan is now a militarized nation on the front lines of the war.
One of the all-time best adventure games, loved by people everywhere who seek a place to stand. Even 20 years later, it remains the only “answer” that no other postwar otaku entertainment has ever been to match.
