aNCHOR Inc. have announced the western release date of visual novel Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse.

The Muv-Luv series began as a dating sim, with protagonist Takeru Shirogane discovering he is to be wed to a heiress of a powerful and influential family. Sequel series Muv-Luv Unlimited begins with Shirogane learning he is in an alternate world, where aliens called BETA have invaded Earth, and must fight back with Tactical Surface Fighters.

Muv-Luv Alternative takes place three years after Unlimited began, with Shirogane waking up in his room, and what seems to be the start of Unlimited. Refusing to accept the events concluding Unlimited, Shirogane seeks to bring about operation Alternative IV; rather than allow Alternative V to pass.

Total Eclipse focuses in pilots testing experimental Tactical Surface Fighters, and launched in 2014 (concluding the light novel series of the same name). Under the UN’s Project Prominence, will pilot Yuuya Bridges’ stony heart and reckless pride finally be melted by his comrades?
