The online services of Multiversus have officially shut down after Warner Bros and developer Player First Games previously confirmed the shutdown.
At that time, the party fighting game had been removed from digital storefronts to conclude their open beta.
The game is set for a full launch sometime in early 2024, where players inventories will be saved as they were prior to the shutdown. So there should be no concerns about lost items or character unlocks when it returns.
The game saw a massive wave of popularity when the open beta launched just under a year ago. It also found a way to meet some controversy in its short time as an open beta.
Despite it’s initial hype upon launch, the player count also quickly dwindled to under 1,000 active players. This came about for multiple reasons like a lack of content and negative sentiment on its monetization.
Multiversus was available for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. When it re-releases in full, it’ll remain free-to-play.
