MOUSE: P.I. For Hire

PlaySide Publishing and developer Fumi Games revealed a new title and for MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, their 1930s cartoons-inspired boomer shooter.

The Disney-like first-person-shooter is set to be released next year for Windows PC (via Steam) and revealed its full title – MOUSE: P.I. For Hire.

Originally teased from November 2023, the MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has a mouse private investigator take down the mob controlling the city. The early 1930s rubber hose style of cartoons, which were made famous by Felix the Cat, Flip the Frog, and of course Mickey Mouse and company, were already used in the hit game Cuphead.

This time, Fumi Games opted for a different track as a first-person shooter, with dynamite, spinach as health recovery, and guns, all with moving graphics that harken back to the pioneer days of animation.

Here’s a rundown on the game, plus the new trailer:

Join our private detective in MOUSE, a gritty, jazz-fueled shooter. With guns blazing and a retro rubber hose animation style, battle your way through a corrupt city full of crooks and danger. Inspired by classic FPS and noir films, MOUSE is the explosive shooter you’ve been waiting for.
