Mortal Kombat X: Kitana and Reptile Detailed, Concept Art, Gameplay, Variations

The developers over at Netherrealm held a live stream to expound on Mortal Kombat X’s Kitana and Reptile.

The video, which you can watch above, starts off with concept art for the two characters, how their appearance was iterated during development, and both fighters’ alternate outfits. Those images are featured below, too.

A new game mechanic is being introduced in Mortal Kombat X: each fighter has three variations from which players can choose, which variations include unique attacks, special moves, and weapons. They reveal both Kitana’s and Reptile’s variations and move sets, against Ermac, Scorpion, Kung Lao, Quan Chi, Kano, and Kotal Kahn.

We get a glimpse at D’vorah on the selection screen again, and get to see Cassie Cage going up against Raiden on a new “hellscape” stage. The developers end the stream by, of course, facing Kitana and Lizard off against each other.

You can check out Kitana and Reptile’s reveals here and here respectively.

There will be more videos, and we’ll be letting you know about them.

Mortal Kombat X will have a worldwide launch on April 14, across PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
