The upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 is the best selling game on the PlayStation Store right now; at least if the store’s sorting function is accurate.

When going to the PlayStation Store and sorting pre-orders by Best Selling, you’ll see Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition sitting at the top and beating out games like Diablo IV and Final Fantasy XVI. At least that’s the case at the time of writing.

The upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 is an enigma of a reboot with a strange development in the lore when Liu Kang effectively resets the past 30 years. Questionable story decisions aside, the franchise is back with all its familiar characters, gore, and of course pre-order skins and microtransactions.

Although the game won’t be coming out until September, it sounds like some PlayStation owners are already clearing out a hundred gigs in anticipation.
