Hot on the heels of announcing Tales of Graces f Remastered, Bandai Namco has revealed an entire new project to remaster previous games in the series.
Simply titled “Tales of Series Remastered Project,” the new undertaking is being held in commemoration of the series’ 30th anniversary, which comes in December 2024.
“We will be remastering past titles in the series, giving customers around the world the opportunity to play them on current-generation gaming consoles,” Bandai Namco said in a new message.
Specific titles weren’t mentioned, however, series producer Yusuke Tomizawa shared a video message talking up the latest remaster, Tales of Graces f Remastered, which is set for January 2025 on all modern platforms.
Here’s the video message from Tomizawa:
Previous remasters included Tales of Vesperia Remastered (it’s actually titled Definitive Edition) in 2019 and the Tales of Symphonia Remastered in 2023.
While most fans want earlier titles in the series like the original Tales of Phantasia or Tales of Destiny, a more recent purported retailer leak suggests a modern entry, Tales of Xillia, might be getting remastered or re-released in some form (it has only been released on PS3).
Whatever the next Tales remaster turns out to be, expect it to not only look better but include various quality-of-life improvements like auto-saving, no encounters, destination display, and more.
