Monster Hunter XX Gets a Nintendo Switch Version

Capcom has announced a new port of Monster Hunter XX for the Nintendo Switch.

The new version of the game will get a full unveiling during this year’s Monster Hunter Championship, which goes down in Sapporo on May 27th. You can watch it live via YouTube at noon Japan time.

Capcom also confirmed (thanks, Takashi Mochizuki) this is not the same “major title” they teased last month – you can read more about that here.

Further details weren’t confirmed – however, what kind of new content would you like to see in this version? Sound off in the comments below!

Very nice. Would much rather MoHun on Switch. Can finally have the option to play titles on TV. Missed it from 4 and Generations.

Will the next game be XXX and star Vin Diesel?

I mean Nintendo got John Cena to advertise the Switch, and remember the time they just
plain put Jean Reno in Onimusha so…yeah, why not.

That would actually be better than bashing their skulls in front of their children for random drops.
    The real monster…is the hunter!

    That logo is an abomination.

It’s a totally new dynamic. Capcom might save it for a DLC though…

They’ll gut out all the lower screen stuff which sucks.

That’d be a great plot for some hentai doujinshi for this game.

This is great. Room-filling boss fights will look way better on both a TV and the Switch’s gorgeous 720p display. Also, proper camera controls!

Really hope they announce a Western launch date soon.

Not that big of a deal. Only thing I used lower-screen for was the map, and that doesn’t need to be available all of the time.

Monster Hunter on a TV again? And I don’t need to worry about a region lock this time? Guess it’s time to invest in a Switch.

Monster Hunter on a console with 2 analog sticks. The one major drawback of this series for a while is gone.

There are several artists that do Monster Hunter Monstergirls, Hugo nominated graphic novelist Kukuruyo, for example.

In addition I think Idea Factory / Compa Heart did a series of Wizardry descendants (“Gridders”) where you captured monstergirls, but I don’t remember which one. Either one of the Monpiece or Omega games, maybe?

Seeing how the language in games is dictated not by region, but by system language, a simultaneous release is a possibility.

I am quite confident that there are a few already, though the amount of antropomorphism is, ehh, variable.

It wasn’t just the map features, there was an entire inventory system they cut that they were testing out in TP and WWHDI’m pretty sure the entire pause menu used to be the gamepad screen just like in TPHD and WWHD and IMO that would have made the WiiU version the definitive one and they took them out purely because of that.
