We’ve learned (via Games Jouhou) that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne director Daisuke Ichihara has left Capcom.

Ichihara was the director on Monster Hunter World’s post-launch Iceborne expansion, as well as Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. He’s already got a new job at ILCA, where he’ll be making new games with a fresh new company.

“You only live once, right? I want to create an organization where the suggestions of employees who have something they want to do can be realized,” Ichihara said. “I myself joined the company midway through my career, but I strongly believe that I want to grow this young organization with my own hands.”

The news was confirmed via an interview with CGWORLD.JP, where they confirmed Ichihara is their Kyoto Development Department Director.

Monster Hunter World and its Iceborne expansion are currently available for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can find our review for the game here. We highly recommend it! In fact we liked it so much, we named it our game of the year for 2018!
