Monster Hunter Rise Heads to Windows PC Early 2022

Monster Hunter Rise

Capcom have confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise will also be heading to Windows PC, after the information was previously leaked.

As previously reported, the game will be the first mainline Monster Hunter title since the successful Monster Hunter World. Players return to the original style of gameplay, this time taking place in an eastern-style region, along with new mechanics, and monsters inspired by Japanese mythology.

While its release date officially was also for Nintendo Switch; launching worldwide March 26th, the Capcom ransomware leaks claimed the game will head to Windows PC in October 2021. Some elements of the leaks have come true, such as details about Resident Evil Villageand multiplayer title Re:Verse Resident Evil.

Now, director Yasunori Ichinose and producer Ryozo Tsujimoto have confirmed Monster Hunter Rise will be heading to Windows PC, some time early 2022. This came via an interview with Fanbyte, stated at the very end of their conversation.

While the PC version is “still very much in development,” the pair also discussed how the game was made for the Nintendo Switch first and foremost. “In the case of Rise, we focused very much on portability — on being able to pick up and play whenever you want. Every title is its own thing.”

When they originally began making the game on Nintendo Switch, they “were aware of its shortcomings and abilities.” However, no features or major additions ended up on “the cutting room floor” due to this.
