Monster Hunter Rise Capcom Collab 2 Launches July 30; Adds Okami Amaterasu Palamute Layered Armor

Monster Hunter Rise Okami Amaterasu

Capcom have announced a crossover with Okami, as an Amaterasu Palamute costume will be available in a Monster Hunter Rise update.

As detailed in a previously released roadmap, the Capcom Collabs in updates would introduce layered armor that references other Capcom titles. This started with the Palico Layered Armor Tsukino (Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin), and the next will introduce a special Layered Armor for the Palamute.

Okami was 2006 action adventure game, telling the tale of the goddess of the sun Amaterasu. Players would fend off Orochi and other monsters besieging ancient Japan, using the celestial brush. Along with magical weapons, players could paint symbols to slash foes, summon plants, destructive weather, restore broken objects, and even make the sun rise.

The Amaterasu Layered Armor brings some of that godly power to players, granting the Palamute weapons resembling those the player can find in Okami, and summoning flowers underfoot as it runs. Even the small and self-proclaimed wandering artist Issun can be seen in idle animations.

The Capcom Collab 2 update launches July 30th; providing the event quest to unlock the Layered Armor set (with July 29th introducing more stickers before that). Capcom Collab 3 will launch in August, followed by 4 and 5 in Fall 2021.
