Capcom announced Monster Hunter Rise during the Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase.
The upcoming title will be the first mainline Monster Hunter title since the successful Monster Hunter World. Players return to the original style of gameplay, this time taking place in an eastern-style region similar to Yukumo Village from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.
Monster Hunter Rise will introduce a new type of companion in addition to the usual Felyne assistants. Players will be able to mount and ride large wolf monsters called Palamutes into battle in order to navigate the terrain more efficiently.

Players who order the deluxe edition of the game will receive extra cosmetic items including the Kamurai layered armor set and “Izuchi Tail” hairstyle. Those who preorder will receive a Palamute Retriever and Palico Forest Cat costume for their companions.
A set of three amiibos featuring the Palamute, new monster Magnamalo, and a Palico will be available also. Each amiibo will unlock a special layered armor set to further customize the player’s appearance.
