Monster Hunter Outlanders

Capcom and TiMi Studio Group have announced Monster Hunter Outlanders, a new smartphone spinoff in the popular monster hunting franchise.

Monster Hunter Outlanders will be co-developed by Capcom and TiMi Studio Group and will launch as a free-to-play game for both iOS and Android, though a release date wasn’t announced. Several playtests are planned before the game launches.

“It’s time for mobile players to fully enjoy what makes Monster Hunter one of the most beloved franchises in gaming,” TiMi Studio Group producer Dong Huang said. “Monster Hunter Outlanders not only offers players an authentic hunting experience, but it does it in a massive open world featuring the community and social systems players are looking for today.”

Here’s a rundown on the game, plus its reveal trailer:

Vast open world and crafting features

You can explore a seamlessly connected field that includes forests, swamps, and deserts, and enjoy hunting anywhere, anytime using your smartphone.

In addition to being able to take advantage of environmental creatures and field gimmicks to gain an advantage, we are also developing features such as a crafting function that will make it easier to explore the vast open world.

Weapon types familiar to the series

While retaining the gameplay experience of the “Monster Hunter” series, the battle system unique to this title has been optimized to be as enjoyable as possible.

Make full use of weapons familiar from the “Monster Hunter” series to face off against monsters.

Character switching system

As you progress through the story, you will meet a variety of unique characters.

Not only can players recruit them as allies, but they can also control them themselves.

Reliable companion

In addition to the familiar Palico from the Monster Hunter series, there are other Palicoes that will accompany you on quests and help you gather items and hunt monsters.
