Monster Hunter franchise tops 100 million copies, Monster Hunter Rise tops 15 million

Capcom has announced total sales for the Monster Hunter franchise has topped 100 million copies, a staggering achievement for any game series.

The new milestone for the series with 100 million copies sold also includes another new milestone – Monster Hunter Rise topping 15 million copies and its Sunbreak expansion topping 8 million copies by itself.

Here’s a full look at some commemorative artwork for the new milestone:

The other big game in the series, Monster Hunter: World, recently hit a milestone of 25 million copies sold and has sold at least 1 million copies every year since its release back in 2018. It remains Capcom’s highest-selling game ever.

The latest entry in the series, Monster Hunter Wilds is set for a release sometime in 2025 for PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Further details are coming next summer.
