Monster Girl Doctor Anime Premieres July, Official Trailer

The light novel series Monster Girl Doctor will be receiving a TV anime, this summer season.

Monster Girl Doctor (Monsutā Musume no Oisha-san) is the latest title from fledgling animation studio Arvo Animation. Originally founded in 2017, Arvo Animation’s only work has been We Never Learn (Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai), also known as Bokuben.

While We Never Learn was a collaborative project with Studio Silver, Monster Girl Doctor appears to be Arvo Animation’s first solo project since their inception.

Originally a light novel series by author Yoshino Origuchi and artist Z-Ton, the series began in 2016 and is published by Shueisha. A manga series began in 2018. However at this time only the light novel is available in the west from Seven Seas Entertainment.

You can find the rundown (via Seven Seas Entertainment) below.

In the town of Lindworm where monsters and humans coexist, Dr. Glenn runs an exemplary medical clinic for monster girls with his lamia assistant, Sapphee. Whether receiving a marriage proposal by a centaur injured in battle, palpating the injury of a mermaid, or suturing the delicate wounds of a flesh golem, Dr. Glenn performs his job with grace and confidence. But when an unsavory character seeks to steal a harpy egg, how will the unflappable Dr. Glenn respond…?

You can find the official trailer below.

The anime will be directed by Yoshiaki Iwasaki and written by Hideki Shirane. It is currently unknown if a western release or simulcast is in the works, however Seven Seas Entertainment posted an English poster to Twitter (also seen above), implying a western release. We will keep you informed as we learn more.

Monster Girl Doctor premieres July 2020.
