We’ve learned that Wii U and 3DS owners might still have a chance at getting Mojang’s wildly successful Minecraft, now that it’s available on practically every other gaming platform on the planet.
In an interview with MCV, Mojang COO Vu Bui talked up the series and its viability, more importantly the status of Minecraft following their Microsoft buyout. Despite being owned by Microsoft, Bui was adamant on having the game on every gaming platform.
“If I had my way, we’d be on everything. We want to continue to be available to all players, and that means being on new platforms because everyone uses something different,” Bui said.
Finally, he singled out Nintendo, and explained why Minecraft hasn’t come to their consoles yet. “[…] I’ve never heard a reason why we haven’t ended up on Wii U or 3DS. It just hasn’t happened yet,” he added.
Would you like to see Minecraft on a Nintendo platform? We’ll keep you guys posted.
