Square Enix has announced the western release date for Mobius Final Fantasy on PC.
The previously mobile-only RPG adventure will launch for PC via Steam on February 6th. The PC version offers full HD 1080p visuals, alongside the game’s in-app purchases, as you can play it for free to start. Featured above, a new trailer was released for the PC release.
To celebrate the release of the game for PC in the west, the company also announced a western release for the Final Fantasy VII Remake collaboration previously released for the game in Japan.
Set to launch the following day after launch, February 7th, the collaboration will see both Mobius Final Fantasy protagonist Wol and Final Fantasy VII protagonist Cloud join forces, using asset from the Final Fantasy VII Remake within Mobius Final Fantasy.
To be clear, this collaboration is the same released in Japan for Mobius Final Fantasy, including things like Cloud Strife, Guard Scorpion, and even the Mako Reactor. However, characters like Tifa, Aerith, and Zack will not appear.
Finally, users who install the game on Steam and log in will have a chance to win certain in-game items, including: Ability Tickets, a Summon Ticket and much more. Prizes will also be divvied to players by way of cumulative shares of the game via its Global Release Campaign webpage. If the number of shares reaches the maximum goal of 15,000, players will get 10 Ability Tickets, the rare upgrade material Growstar and other prizes.

January 25, 2017 at 4:59 pmHow is this game? It actually looked really decent for a phone game.

January 25, 2017 at 5:11 pmDon’t fall for the phone game bait. There will never be such a thing as a good phone game because as a platform, mobile phones suck for video games and always will.
I would rather invest in an original gray fat no backlight multiple AA battery taking gameboy than buy or play phone games.

January 25, 2017 at 5:18 pmShadowverse is a solid phone game

Squeenix is one of the worst offenders on the whole mobile microtransaction crap.

January 25, 2017 at 5:58 pmSo in a typical Square style they announce a mobile game. Kind of.

January 25, 2017 at 8:07 pmThe problem isn’t the platform, its that most people won’t pay more than a few bucks for a game on there.
Wether its because of the onslaught of F2P cashgrabs, or those are simply a result of trying to make money from people who don’t want to spend, I don’t know. Its a chicken and egg scenario.

January 25, 2017 at 8:19 pmNot the Final Fantasy PC Gamers want, but definitely the one they deserve.

January 25, 2017 at 10:07 pmFirst a Final Fantasy collaboration with Arian Grande; now a Final Fantasy collaboration with Final Fantasy. I’m starting to think Square doesn’t know the point of a collaboration.

January 25, 2017 at 11:17 pmSo in other words, you don’t actually have a good counter-argument?:P

January 25, 2017 at 11:26 pmI think part of phone games’ problems are the lack of proper controls. Touch screen works but I prefer the buttons and d-pad.

January 25, 2017 at 11:27 pmIt’s p good actually
the gameplay is simple but it’s enough to keep me going
microtransactions didn’t bother me much because you got a load of good stuff early on
IAP only matters if you want to get the special jobs or the advanced ones which you will get it later anyway
Uncle Slick
January 26, 2017 at 12:31 amTried in on mobile, too laggy.
Will give it a try on PC, if those microtransaction job things are fixed.

January 26, 2017 at 12:43 amYep, I would certainly agree with that. Some games work fine with them, but many don’t.
That would be why there’s a lot of old-school adventure and puzzle games. Turn-based RPG and strategy games are the only ‘core’ genres that works well.

January 26, 2017 at 2:24 amWait hang the fuck on. So this game:
-is a psudo-remake of FF1 but with only one main character instead of a party
-Has FF5 Job system
-Has FF13 battle system and cringy cutscenes.
I think Square has outdone themselves here, lads. At least it’s free to play, can’t imagine anyone buying this as a real game

January 26, 2017 at 4:03 amYes, I want another Final Fantasy Tactics to go with my PS version, greatest hits version, PSP version and various hacked versions. I’m not joking, I’ll buy this game in any form it comes out in. I’ll buy it in table top board game form.

January 26, 2017 at 5:07 amSquare Enix: “Why else are we giving away this port for free? Those suckers never saw it coming! Hahahaha!”

January 26, 2017 at 8:24 amI bought a controller for my phone, big mistake, there’s nothing to fucking play besides emulators, I still go back to my 3DS, mobile will never replace handhelds.
