Independent developer ustwo celebrated a most proud news: the platinum success of their highly-rated mobile puzzler Monument Valley. The developer tweeted that the game had been downloaded over 1 million times since it’s release this past April.
The game has been met with positive critical acclaim and has quickly spread amongst the mobile market. In fact, the game made up for it’s budget within a week and sold 500,000 copies by May, prompting the studio to release the game on Android platforms shortly after release.
The game is described as “an illusory adventure of impossible architecture and forgiveness.” In the game, players guide the young Princess Ida through a series of mazes and puzzles, hand-crafted and built with an emphasis in graphic design and architecture. Players guide the Princess to outsmart the Crow People on a quest of discovery, interesting perceptions, and meaningful beauty in a puzzling world.
The game is out now on the Apple App Store, Android Google Play store, and Amazon Kindle Fire. Follow ustwo studios here for continuing updates, especially from their New York Studio office! Follow Monument valley on Facebook and Twitter, as well as visit their own website here.
