Here’s some good news for people wanting a more complete experience while playing Minecraft on their phones – Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft Pocket Edition is getting quite a sizable update.

The 0.8.0 version update brings a host of new features, including new carpets, wood types, crops, food types, mine carts, rails, powered rails, new textures, colors, and lots more. A more notable change to the game was the draw distance increase, which they described as “massively increased.” Mob A.I. has also been upgraded and tweaked, lighting and fog effects have been improved and of course, lots of bugs have been crushed.

The 0.8.0 update is now available through Amazon, Google Play and the iOS App Store.
