Now that Minecraft is out on Playstation 4 and Playstation 3, the last Sony platform for the game to take ahold of is the Playstation Vita.
The Vita build of Minecraft was submitted to Sony back in August, but unfortunately failed their approval process. It has since been re-submitted to Sony for testing, and we’ve also learned that the Playstation Vita port of Minecraft will also work on the Playstation TV on day one.
The game was also successfully rated via the ESRB:
ESRB: E rating
Other: Includes online features that may expose players to unrated user-generated content (PS Vita)
Rating Summary: This is puzzle-adventure game in which players mine pixilated landscapes to harvest stylized cube-like materials. From a first-person perspective, players traverse an “open-world” environment, avoid hazards, build new structures, and craft weapons (e.g., swords, axes, and bows) to occasionally defend against monsters (e.g., zombies, wolves, and giant spiders). Though not encouraged, players can engage in violent acts such as lighting animals on fire and harming animals with weapons. Mild explosions are occasionally heard as players use dynamite to fend off creatures and mine the environment.
This hopefully means the game will be approved and published to the platform soon?
So I know that once the game arrives on Vita, I’ll have yet another time sink between the Playstation 4 and the Playstation Vita port, although I do prefer to have these sandbox games available for local, couch co-op.
