In a surprise Playstation Blog update, Mojang has announced that Minecraft is going to finally hit Playstation 3 tomorrow, December 17th. The game will come to Europeans on the following day, December 18th.
The Playstation 3 version is coming with “everything present in other console versions,” and is “pretty much identical to play,” and best of all – it will be developed and updated in tandem with other console versions moving forward.
All of those awesome downloadable skins, textures and content will also be available for the Playstation 3 edition “soon after release,” according to Mojang. The developer also teased at Playstation related content, saying it “would be cool.”
There are some unfortunate news, however, as Mojang is unable to confirm whether or not the game supports remote play, cross buy or cross saves between Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita.
Playstation 4 and Vita gamers will have to wait until next year to play the game on those platforms, as Mojang also said “they’ll both be out next year, but no specific dates yet, sorry.”
