If you’re a fan of Minecraft or follow online content of the game, chances are you’ve heard of a Minecraft streamer named Technoblade. On June 30th, Technoblade, known in real life as Alex, lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 23.

His death caused many online to post their tributes and condolences for his tragically short life and passing.

An honorary post, first discovered by a user by the name of iFireMonkey, was made by the game’s developer Mojang. If one loads into the Minecraft launcher, they will find that a pig standing in the artwork behind the playable avatars of Steve and Alex, now dons a crown.

This would be a reference to Technoblade’s own avatar in Minecraft, which was a pig dressed like a king, crown and all.

Mojang also left a more direct statement in tribute on the creator’s passing:

We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly.

While his life came to a young tragic end, it is a nice sight to see that Technoblade will continue to be remembered by those touched by his work the most.
