Minecraft Gets a Sizable Update on Home Consoles, Includes New Potions, Blocks, More

Microsoft has launched the “biggest update of all time” for the home console versions of Minecraft (except the Wii U version, sorry guys).

The free update brings with it new potions, mobs, biomes, and blocks. Featured above, you can view an overview trailer for the game’s sizable update.

“If you’re more into embarking on fantastic adventures in your worlds, fear not–we have you covered,” Microsoft said in a blog post. “The update includes subaquatic Ocean Monuments where Elder Guardians await to test your courage. Rare materials and treasure chambers await those who dare enter.”

The new biomes include the likes of Redwood forests, Mega-Taiga, and the Deep Ocean. The new blocks, however, include Granite, Red Sandstone, Sea Lanterns, Slime, and Packed Ice. There are other various oddities added to the game, like new flowers, rabbits, and more.
