Mojang has announced they’re releasing a native PS5 port for Minecraft next month, months after the Xbox version got a performance upgrade.
The new Minecraft PS5 native port will launch on October 22nd, bringing with it greater render distance while still running at 4K resolution and 60FPS. Owners of the original PS4 version of Minecraft will get the PS5 version as a free upgrade.
The new PS5 version will also include full cross-play support, meaning you can play with your friends on all Bedrock devices and get access to the Minecraft Store.
A physical retail release on PS5 will be offered for $29.99, which includes 3,500 tokens of in-game currency (used for skins and premium content).
