Millia Rage and Zato-1 Confirmed for Guilty Gear: Strive, Closed Beta April 16 to 19

Guilty Gear: Strive

Arc System Works have revealed Millia Rage, and Zato-1 for Guilty Gear: Strive; along with the announcement of a closed beta test.

Both are members of the Assassin’s Guild, and both use Forbidden Beasts to fight. Millia lost her parents at a young age, and even became suicidal under the Guild. She was forcibly given Angra, allowing her to control her hair.

Her stressful upbringing combined with Zato’s obsession for her, she joined the International Police Force and turned on the guild. While she hated being an assassin, Zato-1 revels in it.

While Zato lost his eyesight to host the Forbidden Beast Eddie, he descended into madness after his arrest and imprisonment in the Dimensional Prison. His “love” of Millia as an assassin turned into a desire to kill her.

The battle between Millia and Zato in Guilty Gear X resulted in Zato’s death. Eddie then puppeted his corpse, looking for a new host. This was until his revival in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. Even so, he is a blank slate, only feeling anything towards Millia.

Along with the trailer for Faust, Zato being revived does cast doubt on where this game takes place in the Guilty Gear timeline. Eddie was specifically referred to by his name in-game while controlling Zato’s body, while Zato-1 for when Zato was around.
