Limited Run Games have announced they will be producing physical copies of Mighty Gunvolt Burst, during Limited Run’s Annual Game Announcement Show.

The retro-style 2D side-scrolling action game combines the worlds of Azure Striker Gunvolt, and Mighty No. 9. The game also combines mechanics of both games, by defeating enemies at close range to earn a Burst Combo, and different playstyles with Beck, Gunvolt, and Ekoro.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst will physically head to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in August 28th.

Though the style will take you back to gaming in the 90s, new systems will keep the action fresh. Aim for a “Burst Combo” by taking out enemies at close range. Choose a character with unique abilities and tune their attacks, defense and movement options just how you like it with the game’s deep customization system. Mighty Gunvolt Burst has the responsiveness and challenging gameplay of retro hits but with plenty of modern features you’ve come to expect.

Play as “Beck,” “Gunvolt,” or “Ekoro,” and experience their new stories in this unique parallel universe.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst is available on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
