Middle of Nowhere Hits Kickstarter

The last time we talked about Middle of Nowhere, the guys at UK developer Vision Arts were still prepping up their game to be ready for a kickstarter campaign. Coming from this, the game still look great and showed the heart of a true survival horror game, the kind of game that made the genre a classic.

The heart of Middle of Nowhere is a town that defies reality and will both intrigue you and horrify you. Gameplay in Middle of Nowhere is focused on story progression, survival, puzzles and of course – scaring the crap out of you. The team at Vision Arts really seem dedicated to crafting a unique, scary and yet beautiful world for you to explore.

Coming from this, Middle of Nowhere is a non-linear type game, meaning you won’t be going down the same path and encounter the same types of experiences. An example was given of the entrance of a cave alone having four routes to choose from, meaning you’ll have lots of options as you explore the town.

Inspiration for Middle of Nowhere comes from classics like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Dino Crisis and Parasite Eve. Vision Arts really is taking what made those games classic into consideration, with a big emphasis on making the player feel totally screwed. To achieve this, ammo is limited and guns are either hard to find or expensive to maintain.

If Middle of Nowhere seems promising to you, head on over to their kickstarter page and check out their demo, and possibly throw some money at them too.
