Not much concrete information has been revealed pertaining to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor’s core experience. By core experience, I mean whether or not you can play with friends.
When a fan asked the official Shadow of Mordor twitter if the game would feature co-op, he got a response:
“Alas, no co-op. Shadow of Mordor is being crafted wholly as a single-player experience.”

While I can expect some fans to be very disappointed with this news, there could always be a multiplayer mode tacked on as a separate experience. Personally, I can’t stand when multiplayer is shoehorned into the core experience, as I usually prefer to play solo.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is coming to Windows PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One sometime this year.
