Microsoft announces early access-like Project Moorcroft program for Xbox

Project Moorcroft

Microsoft has announced Project Moorcroft, a Steam Early Access-like program for indie devs putting their games onto Xbox platforms.

Project Moorcroft is going to start rolling out within the next year, giving Xbox Game Pass members access to new, curated demos of upcoming games. The goal is to provide indie devs “more opportunities to build excitement for their games.”

Developers that participate in the program will get to see how well their demo performs and will be compensated, seemingly a stepping stone to getting their games onto Xbox Game Pass, as Microsoft hints Moorcroft will enable devs to “bring their creativity to Xbox and reach new audiences with Game Pass.”

Further information wasn’t shared on Project Moorcroft, but we’ll keep you guys posted.
