Many Killer Instinct fans have been left wondering what will come of the Xbox One reboot following the purchase of Double Helix by Amazon, the studio behind the game’s development and post-launch updates.

Fortunately, Microsoft has confirmed that it has secured a new development partner for the franchise reboot. A representative from Microsoft had this to say to Polygon:

“We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Double Helix and wish them success in their next endeavor. We want all of our loyal fans to know that the Killer Instinct team at Microsoft is not changing and that the franchise will remain with Microsoft Studios. We remain dedicated to delivering a great experience and plan to announce our new development partner soon. We’re excited about the future of this popular franchise.”

Killer Instinct launched with the Xbox One on November 22nd, and it has been regularly receiving updates. We’ll keep you guys posted.
