Microids is developing new Bernard Werber games

Microids is developing new Bernard Werber games, news confirmed by the company this week.

Microids is a French publisher and developer known for the Syberia series, as well as upcoming titles like their The House of the Dead remake and various Garfield games.

This is not the first time Werber has worked with Microids. In 2000 the Frenchman’s bestselling novel Empire of Ants was adapted into a real time strategy game.

News that Microids is developing new Bernard Werber games means they’ll be developing more video games based on the acclaimed science fiction writer, which could include his other works that typically anthropomorphize animals.

“After the release of Empire of the Ants, we kept touch with Bernard and it’s with great pleasure that we are working again with him today,” said Microids COO and co-CEO Elliot Grassiano. “This new partnership allows us to demonstrate once more our editorial strategy spearheaded by talented creators and authors. We are incredibly motivated to offer a truly faithful experience echoing Bernard’s work. The great adventure has just started and we can’t wait to share more.”

Bernard Werber also talked up the new agreement for game adaptations:

“Today, the technology seems to have reached the milestone we were waiting for in order to deliver a unique experience to my readers and gamers alike,” Werber said.

Microids latest release, Syberia: The World Before, is now available for Windows PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store).
