Previously, Nintendo confirmed that Mewtwo was making a comeback in the Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U.
We haven’t really heard any details since then, other than that it will take “months” to balance him and make him ready for prime time as post-launch downloadable content.
Now, the official Japanese Super Smash Bros. website has confirmed that Mewtwo will indeed be paid downloadable content. However, if you own both games and register both with Nintendo, you’ll not only get the Super Smash Bros. Nintendo 3DS & Wii U: Premium Sound Collection, you’ll also get the psychic Pokemon for free.
To clarify, if you only buy one copy of the game, you’ll still be eligible to get him, you’ll just have to fork up the cash. Nintendo also mentions that owners of both games will get a downloadable content voucher which can be redeemed sometime next spring, for Mewtwo.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is launching tomorrow, November 21st, in North America finally on November 28th in Europe.
