metroid prime 06-10-15-1

Retro Studios, the studio behind instant-classics like the Metroid Prime series and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, are teasing an announcement for this year’s E3.

The new message was posted on their official Twitter, in which they coyly teased “Can you dig it?”, alongside a link to the Nintendo E3 website.

Nintendo’s E3 press conference is going down on June 16th. We’ll keep you guys posted.

I was wondering when they’d make a new Metroid game. As long as it’s not a sequel/prequel of other M. Because that game was probably the worst one in the franchise IMHO.

If they add shitty motion controls to metroid again i will fly out to their building and throw bricks through their windows. Really ticked me off when they released the trilogy in that state for wii u.

I actually thought the motion controls for Corruption were top-notch.

Setting my expectations to absolute minimum. “Can you dig it?” does not scream Metroid to me.

They were great. Very few Wii games used motion controls as well as Corruption did.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Nintendo has up their sleeve this year @ E3. It’ll be fun to watch.

Well, good for them. They are competent, and I hope it’s something for the Wii U.

The motion controls worked well for me. It felt natural and responsive. Of course there’s people out there who dont like motion controls at all.

They key here is that these games aren’t so much using motion controls as they are using the IR sensor to point, which has always been more accurate.

But I agree, I thought the controls here were very well done and actually an improvement over the GC controller, and I don’t hesitate to complain about the Wii’s control scheme.

Maybe it’s referring to the trailer for Metroid Prime Hunters. Maybe someone’s digging more graves for Samus’s bounties.

The Metroid Prime Collection on the Wii was the best. I don’t know if they still cost an arm and a leg or got the same treatment that Xenoblade Chronicles did, but I totally recommend getting that collection to those who don’t already have it if you can find it at a reasonable price.

Don’t invoke Metroid like that m8, we all know this ain’t got nothing to do with the roids.

Giving Metroid back to Retro would be one of the smartest things N has done with Nintendo in a long time, but there’s no guarantee. And in fact I would guess not. I get the feeling that Other M was really about getting Metroid back into Japanese hands.

If you break your wrist with corruption, you are doing something wrong. It’s tennis elbow you get from corruption.
