Fans of the 2D Metroid games should be excited to hear that the long in development Metroid 2 remake might be coming out next month, if this count down timer is anything to go by.

The project, titled AM2R, has been in development since 2008, with the original goal of taking assets from Metroid: Zero Mission and remaking Metroid 2 with it.

The last video update was back in 2014 (seen above), so we have no idea what the final product will look like.
