Metro Exodus is the Biggest Hit for THQ Nordic, but “Absolute Majority” of Sales Were on Consoles

While Metro Exodus has been available for PC and consoles, the PC release saw a bit of controversy as it dropped the planned Steam release for Epic Store exclusivity. This naturally affected sales, and the game has reportedly sold much more on gaming consoles, not PC.

A new Q&A session with THQ Nordic CEO Lars Wingefors notes the “absolute majority” of the sales for the game were on gaming consoles, despite the game being the “largest game launch” in their history, and that it has blown past recouping its development and marketing costs.

Despite the good sales, the game reportedly performed “in line with management’s expectations.” The full Q&A recording will go live over on the company’s official site.

It’s worth noting the game will be exclusive to the Epic Store for a year, after which it will return to Steam.

Metro Exodus now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the game here (we highly recommend it!).
