NEOWIZ and developer JellySnow Studio have announced a delay in the release date of their roguelite action-platformer, Metal Unit.
Metal Unit is currently in Early Access on Windows PC (via Steam), and was set to fully launch in December 2020. Now the game will launch in January 2021. Additional content and a Nintendo Switch version will also launch in 2021. The reason for the delay was cited as adding polish, adding additional content, and implementing changes based on user feedback.
As previously reported, players control Joanna, a young woman that pilots the powerful and customizable M-Unit 11 battle suit. She must defend the last remnants of humanity against a simultaneous invasion by both ancient monsters from beneath the earth, and robotic aliens from space. Exploring the world progresses the story, while delving underground offers more risk and reward.
Along with key choices affecting the story, the items players have on death will convert into points. These can be spent on unlocking new items and skills.

- Roguelite Elements – Upon death the game will convert all equipped items into permanent research points. The points can then be used to unlock new items and skills. You will constantly receive weapons of varying utility and will need to adapt your strategy to match your current equipment.
