Metal Max: Wild West is cancelled due to development woes

Metal Max: Wild West

Publisher Kadokawa Games announced Metal Max: Wild West is cancelled, citing issues with the game’s development.

The 24Frame and Cattle Call co-developed sequel to Metal Max Xeno: Reborn has been cancelled after Kadokawa Games president Yoshimi Yasuda looked at “the current development status” of the game.

The post-apocalyptic sequel was previously set for a general 2021 release window, only to get delayed to sometime in 2022. Metal Max: Wild West was in development for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Further information wasn’t shared.

The previous game, Metal Max Xeno: Reborn, is still on track for a release this week on Windows PC, Switch, and PS4 – read more about that here.
