If you were anxiously waiting for the full release of Mercenary Kings, unfortunately you’re going to have to wait just a bit longer. Tribute Games, the developer behind Mercenary Kings, has announced that the game is shaping up to release early next year:

“We’re extremely grateful and excited about people asking for the game on PS4 or the completed version on Steam. It was our hope to have it completed and in your hands for the holidays but the game is not in the shape it needs to be for [its] official, full release. Again, we’d like to thank you for your patience. We do not take lightly the privilege of having people be excited about the game and asking us about it everyday on social media! We’re working really hard to get it in the best possible shape and in your hands early 2014.”

The game was anticipated for a release by the end of this year, just in time for the holidays, but still needs just a bit more work. In terms of development progress, the game’s content is complete, but Tribute Games is busy putting the finishing touches on sound effects and various localizations.

Mercenary Kings is set for release early next year on PC (via Steam) and Playstation 4.
