Melty Blood: Type Lumina Hisui & Kohaku Gameplay Trailer

Melty Blood Type Lumina Hisui Kohaku

Project Lumina has shared a new Melty Blood: Type Lumina gameplay trailer, focusing on Hisui and Kohaku.

The two sisters lived as maids in the Tohno household, thanks to their bloodlines ability to help control their demonic blood. Kohaku took the brunt of this for her sister, being endlessly abused by Makihisa Tohno while Hisui lived a normal childhood.

After his biological son did the same as his father, Kohaku planned her revenge against the family- drugging him and brainwashing him to further twist his murderous impulses.

When Akiha Tohno learned of what had happened, she freed Kohaku from her “duties” to only act as normal maid. Hisui’s offer to “take on her role” was offered in kindness; and while never acted out, learning how her sister suffered lead to a change in her personality.

The pair’s personalities are masks covering their true feelings. Hisui is happy, kind, and emotional; but acts more stern and in control to protect her sister. Kohaku acts cheerful and full of energy, but is a front for a deeply traumatized mind unable to feel emotion.

The pair fight as one in battle, using their surprisingly useful maid-like abilities along with Kohaku’s mastery of plants and drugs. You can find their Battle Preview trailer below.

You can find the rundown on Ciel (via the official website) below.

Hisui

“A maid for the Tohno family, responsible for household chores (except cooking) and taking care of Shiki. She is Kohaku’s younger twin. Unlike her sister, she is known for wearing more modern, non-traditional clothing. Her quiet nature makes her true feelings difficult to read, and her formal way of speaking has led Shiki to see her as being rather mechanical. Her fighting skills are not quite on the same level as her sister, but she holds her own well enough.”

Kohaku

“She and her twin sister Hisui have worked for the Tohno family since they were young. Her trademark outfit is an apron over a classic kimono. Apart from assisting Akiha, she does household chores and tends the garden. Her pharmaceutical knowledge means she is also responsible for Shiki when he falls ill. She is endlessly cheerful, always willing to help, and wears a constant smile. In battle, Kohaku can be seen wielding the sword she keeps hidden in her broom, calling on strange plants, and even dropping fire bombs from above as if by magic. How she is capable of such things is still a mystery to those around her.”

You can also find trailers for Shiki Tohno [12], Kouma KishimaArcueid Brunestud, Ciel, and Akiha Tohno.

Melty Blood: Type Lumina launches September 30 worldwide on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
