Indie developer saebashi has announced MELTMARE, a Live2D action-adventure game where you help a strange girl escape from a facility overrun with monsters.

MELTMARE is in development for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PS5. While a release date wasn’t announced, the game is 45% done.

MELTMARE is an action-adventure game developed independently by solo game developer saebashi, in which you help “Lua,” a strange girl on the other side of the screen, escape from a mysterious facility teeming with monsters. The player is forced to accept a request to act as the girl’s escort and guide her through the facility. The strange condition of this request is that the entire process must be livestreamed. The Western-style mansion where the girl is imprisoned. What truth awaits beyond its walls…?

Dialogue scenes feature dramatic visuals rendered in Live2D and on the desktop screen, along with unpredictable scenarios, while combat scenes are 2D action sequences rendered in pixel art. The entire experience is streamed on a video social media platform, where you can receive hints from viewer comments and use tips to upgrade your equipment.
