While we previously reported on the awesome fact that Saladin would be returning in Stronghold Crusaders II, we didn’t get much more information about how he would reprise his role in the tactical castle simulator.

Featured above, you’ll get an overview of how Saladin functions as both a military commander, as well as a leader in general. Saladin is quick to build up his economy to make his people happy and set the foundation for his forces, but he is also slow to build up his castle defenses.

One of the coolest things in the hotly anticipated sequel is the fact that after you’ve completed the campaign, you can return to the crusades and play as Saladin himself, and instead fight the Christians and Richard the Lionheart in the fight to take back the holy lands.

Stronghold Crusader II is set for a release sometime this summer on PC.
