McDonald’s Japan has announced yet another collaboration with Evangelion, complete with new sandwiches and EVA-themed toys.
The new Evangelion-themed burgers are all assembled in buns that are made to look like an A.T. Field like from the anime. Featured above, the three new burger offerings include:
- Mashed Potatoes & Thick Beef with Rich Garlic Mayonnaise
- Mexican Cheese Chicken
- Cheese Double Teriyaki (this one is returning after debuting last year)
All of the new EVA-themed burgers and the related toys will be available nationwide in Japan starting January 6th. It’s worth noting even the packaging for the burgers are Evangelion-themed:
Alongside the new burgers is the reveal of the new Evangelion Unit-M, which is prominently shown in the various commercials and even with standalone artwork McDonald’s Japan also shared:
McDonald’s Japan naturally released other new commercials for the new collaboration, featuring more footage from the recent Evangelion Rebuild films, complete with voice actors reprising their roles. Here’s a look:
McDonald’s x Eva: Miracle Robot (shows off the EVA toys)
Evangelion Burger “Instant, Meat, Layered”
Evangelion Burger “Stranger Burger”
Evangelion Burger “The Shape of the Heart, the Shape of the Potato”
The first commercial shows off the Evangelion-themed toys, which all three are designed in the shape of the actual sandwiches and transform into their respective EVA units.
The second commercial features Misato Katsuragi asking Makoto Hyuga what he’s looking at (it’s the delicious Cheese Double Teriyaki burger), which then shows off all three burgers.
The third commercial features Ryoji Kaji confronting the double agent, who then starts rambling on about the new burgers, much to Kaji’s confusion.
The final commercial features the secretive members of NERV asking Gendo Ikari if he got the recipe for the various McDonald’s Japan x EVA burgers.
