Max Payne remakes now in full production

Max Payne remakes

Fans of the classic bullet time third person shooter Max Payne, get ready for some good news. Remedy Entertainment confirmed the remakes have entered full production.

The creators of the original Max Payne games, as well as Alan Wake and Control, have published a financial report, in which they state “Max Payne 1&2 remake entered the full production stage”, as of second quarter of 2024.

Other than that, we can read that amidst -3.2 millions euro of operating profit, and after acquiring full rights to Control franchise a bit earlier this year, Control 2 progressed to the production readiness stage.

Also mentioned in the report is their still unnamed game codenamed “Condor”, a multiplayer spinoff of Control, also reached a full production stage.

The report informs us that Remedy’s revenue increased by 16.2%, from 8.9 million in the previous year to 10.3 million, which could reassure us that their financial situation is stabilizing and should allow them for swift development of the aforementioned games.

This is especially important after the cancellation of their unannounced co-op multiplayer title codenamed “Kestrel”, which allowed them to focus more on already established projects.

From previous information gathered the Max Payne 1&2 remakes should release late 2026 or early 2027, with Control 2 and “Condor’s” release date still being unannounced.
